Golf Costa Brava |
Delightful tree lined course just outside Platja d'Aro. Not
overlong but very condition and most enjoyable. |
|
Platja De Pals |
Beautiful golf course almost all lined with umbrella pines , it has good
shape and its always immaculate condition makes this great bet. |
|
PGA Catalunya |
Big top class golf course. Smashing use of water and elevated
tees with top greens makes this course absolutely out of the drawer. Don't
miss it especially now with sensible prices - as its reputation grows it
will increase in price as its reputation grows. |
|
Girona |
Beautiful course in peaceful valley setting in a calm
valley just north of Girona. Very i9nteresting course with lots of trees and
intricate shaping - well worth the modest fee. |
|
Serres de Pals |
Newer
sister course to Platja de Pals this course is more open but the holes are
well shaped with great use of the water features - good golf course |
|
Emporda |
The
course is almost airborne it's so high up above the town - tight fairways
and protected greens make this a tough challenge - it's also pretty hill so
you'll need to be fit to walk. |
|
Torremiona |
Good quality parkland course on a classy residential complex.
It's a bit of a drive from Platja d'Aro so probably only sensible if you are
staying in Girona. |
|
Peralada |
Much like Torremiona this excellent parkland course is a
great choice from Girona but a bit too far from Platja d'Aro. The 5 star
Hotel on site boasts wine filled spa - we've no experience but it sounds
intriguing. |
|
Golf d'Aro (Mas Nou) |
Almost airborne course set high on a plateau above Platja
d'Aro. Magnificent views and top condition plus the general quality of the
layout make this a top choice. The back nine is a bit hilly so a buggy may
be a good bet. |
|
Costa de la Luz |
|
|
Golf de Sevilla |
Olazabal design which just oozes quality - course , clubhouse
and general are all of the highest quality - it is 3rd ranked in Spain and
is a must play during your visit. It is only rarely available at weekends
but make sure it is part of your itinerary. |
|
Montecastillo |
Excellent Nicklaus designed course close to the Jerez Grand
Prix and home to the Volvo Masters until 2002 which speaks for its quality.
6,424 metres and excellent value - generous fairways but dangerous
protection to the greens - another must play |
|
Costa Ballena |
Another Olazabal design about 30 minutes from Jerez and the
home of the Finnish PGA. The course runs alongside the sea and is mostly
flat but the palm trees and water features make it interesting and enjoyable
to play. Excellent value |
|
Sherry Golf |
Just on the outskirts of Jerez this newish setup represents
an excellent challenge at an unbeatable price. Water features on half the
holes and make the course a very enjoyable challenge now and sure to
improve. |
|
El Puerto |
Designed by Manual Pinero and just 20 minutes from Jerez.
Very attractive golf courses superbly designed with undulating fairways ,
very good bunkering - a pleasure to play. |
|
Sanlucar |
New golf course with a temporary clubhouse at present but a
good challenge to play and with plenty of improvement to come |
|
Montenmedio |
Family owned golf club with a super clubhouse and an
excellent golf course. Almost 20 years old now but feels more like 50 - the
course is laid out in natural woodland / parkland and is a delight - put it
on your list. |
|
Benalup |
Top class environment with a 5 star Hotel on site this course
was built with no expense spared . superb water features and 7,000 imported
trees add to the pleasure. Our green fee includes lunch and drinks while you
are there. A good choice. |
|
Novo
Sancti Petri |
Seve design with 2 18 hole courses set in a parkland
environment , pine lined. The club dates back to 1990 and the last 9 holes
have recently opened - good choice for your trip. |
